The Story of Neurofibromatosis patient John Reinartz:

Five years ago, neurofibromatosis patient John Reinartz noticed a tingling in his left pinky and followed up with his doctor who ordered an extensive contrast MRI. “There were lots of tumors along the ulna nerve and I could tell they were growing because my fingers in my left hand were going numb.” With no treatments on the market and a doctor who worried that surgery would render the hand useless, John was left with no choice but to live with the pain and numbness.
